簡介： 帝王猛獁象是生活於美國諸多猛獁象的其中一種，也是所有已知的大象之中，體型最大的一種。有著長的象牙，且象牙的特徵是平滑的向後捲曲，可達4.3公尺。生活在暖和的草原與林地，所以身上可能就不像其他生活在寒冷氣候的猛獁象一樣，披覆厚厚的皮毛。有許多的化石在現在的美國加州被挖掘出來，而且在洛杉磯市中心地底下的瀝青坑中，依然有許多帝王猛獁象的種或亞種標本陸續被發現。 |

知識 1： 化石脊椎長鼻目帝王猛獁象Mammuthus imperator was one of the Mammuthus living in the US and the largest sized known elephant. Mammuthus imperator had long, smooth, and backward pointing tusks with the length of 4.3 meters. Because Mammuthus imperator lived in warm grassland and wood, unlike other Mammuthus living in the cold climate was not furred with dense hair.
