描述： 亞洲玉米螟(Ostrinia furnacalis)是草螟科(Crambidae)野螟亞科(Pyraustinae)的成員。本種的前翅為黃色底，前緣有一條暗紅色斑自翅基延伸到翅約3/4處，亞外緣、外中線與內線各有一條暗紅色鋸線狀帶，內線與外中線間有一大塊暗紅色斑夾雜黃色斑，翅基散佈暗紅色斑點；後翅為黃色底，亞外緣有一條黑帶，中室頂端有一小塊黑斑。桿野螟屬(Ostrinia)全世界已記錄約21種，臺灣則記錄三種。 A Brief Introduction: Ostrinia furnacalis represents one of the two Ostrinia species in Taiwan and shares very similar wing pattern with the other species, O. scapulalis. Identification of the two species from wing pattern is difficult but that from male mesotibia is relatively easy.
