名詞解釋： ［美國歷史統計］為[Statistical Abstract of the United States]的歷史性資料補篇，記錄美國回溯性之各種統計，深具歷史價值。全系列分3次出版，第1冊為[Historical Statistics of the United States, 1789-1945]，於1949年出版；第2冊[Historical Statistics of the United States, Colonial Time to 1957]，於1960年出版；第3冊[Historical Statistics of the United States, Colonial Time to 1970, Bicentennial Edition Part II]1957年出版。前2冊由Bureau of Census和Social Science Research Council(SSRC)共同合作而成，第3冊則由Bureau of Census獨自出版。 內容將殖民時代至1970年間的美國社會與經濟的發展作一統計性之概覽，涵蓋範圍極廣，涉及人口、衛生、移民、勞工、農業、教育、經濟、森林、礦業、交通、產業、國際貿易等等。書末並有主題索引，幫助查檢。為查詢美國殖民地時期統計資料最具價值之工具書。 |
