名詞解釋： 祕魯國家圖書館成立於1821年，1943年部分遭火焚燬，1947年重建開放。重要館藏包括：圖書737,000冊，期刊21,160冊，手稿263,600件，地圖11,800件，音樂資料9,777件，照片7,686張（1993年統計）。核心館藏主要是有關秘魯的歷史、文學及法律資料，該圖書館藏有秘魯最早印行的圖書[LaDoctrina Christiana Y Catecismo Para Instruccion de Los Indios, 1584]：而年代最早的古籍是1472年的[Decretalium Gregorii Pape IX]。館員人數有191人(1982)，其中專業館員占48人。 秘魯國家圖書館設有以下單位：國立圖書館員學校(The National School of Librarians)、全國民眾市立圖書館辦事處(The National Office of Popular Municipal Libraries)、全國學校圖書館辦事處(The National Office of School Libraries)、技術作業處(The Office of Technical Processes)、諮詢暨讀者處(The Office of Consultation and Readership)、全國書目暨版權註冊處(The Office of the National Bibliography and the Register of Copyright)、書目研究處(The Office of Bibliographic Research)、行政暨控制處(The Office of Administration and Control)。全館有6個閱覽室，每天約可容納2,000位讀者。 自1934年起，秘魯國家圖書館開始許多出版計畫，第一個出版物就是〔秘魯國家書目〕(Annuario Bibliografico Peruano)，每年出刊一次。其他重要的出版品還包括：〔國家圖書館會報〕(National Library Bulletin)、〔秘魯圖書館員公報〕(Peruvian Librarian's Gezette)等。 國家總檔案處(The Archivo General de la Nacion)和國家書目中心(Biblioteca del Instituto Nacional)亦分擔國家圖書館的活動，後者並負責秘魯出版品鑑定及分類的工作。 |
