名詞解釋： 人名。加拿大舞者和編舞家，他生於蒙特婁（Montreal），195l年開始他短暫的表演生涯時，曾為《蒙特婁先鋒報》（The Montreal Herald）擔任過樂評家。當他在加拿大國家芭蕾舞團（The Canadian National Ballet）獻藝兩季後，即遭到武器的傷害而結束了他的舞蹈生涯。1956年創立蒙特婁劇院芭蕾舞團（The Montreal Theatre Ballet），從1958年開始為溫尼佩格皇家芭蕾舞團（The Royal Winnipeg Ballet）工作。從1964至1966年，他在瑞典皇家芭蕾舞團（The Royal Swedish Ballet）擔任藝術指導工作，從1967至1974年則為哈克尼斯芭蕾舞團（The Harkness Ballet）效勞。目前他是加拿大蒙特婁芭蕾舞團（The Montreal-Based Les Grands Ballets Canadiennes）的主持。他曾為各個服務過的舞團編舞，此外也為巴黎歌劇院（Opéra de Paris）及傑弗瑞城市芭蕾舞團（The City Center Joffey Ballet）的舞碼創作上有過貢獻。代表作有《當蜘蛛睡著了》（While The Spider Slept, 1965）、《火鳥》（Firebird, 1966）、《無言之歌》（Song without Words , 1966）、《羅密歐與茱麗葉》（Romeo and Juliet, 1975）。 |
